The theme of the month has been closures and discontinuations. While other automakers(looking at you, GM and Ford) are leaning away from sedans in favor of crossovers and SUVs. While on the other side, Toyota is reassuring their four-door friends.

Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz recently spoke at the Detroit Economic Club. While he notices the decline in sedan sales, he believes it to only be temporary. They still sell plenty of passenger cars, and that won't change.

"There's no way I'm going to walk away from that. We are always going to have a bias toward passenger cars."

Toyota has sold nearly 600,000 Corollas and Camrys combined in November alone, making them the second and third best selling vehicles of the season.

But Toyota recognizes under performance. Some of their less popular models may be hitting the chopping block here soon, such as the Yaris or Prius C. Time will tell.
