Saleen Automotive has a history for modding Ford Mustangs, and notably for creating the S7 supercar. But the California company has expanded their portfolio with the Saleen Sportruck XR.

Due to debut at the Harris Ford Lincoln in Lynnwood, Washington, Saleen teased the potent powerhouse on their official Facebook page. The company didn't provide specific performance specs, but with a naturally aspirated and supercharged engine, we can expect at least a 700 horsepower coming from the cab.

Steve Saleen, Saleen CEO, set out to build the greatest off-road pickup he could, enlisting Greg Foutz of Foutz Motorsports to develop the suspension and off-road abilities. They utilized 2.5-inch coil-over shocks on the front of the vehicle and Smooth series of the same size in the back. If you opt for the Black Level Sportruck XR option, you'll see a 12-inch front suspension travel and 14-inch rear. Bypass-valve shocks by Fox top it all off.

Regardless what package you choose, you'll still have Saleen rear leaf springs, bump stops, and frame gussets. 3.8-inch vented front rotors with two-piston calipers and 13.8-inch vented rear rotor brakes, from Saleen themselves, are equipped to the wheels. There will be an option for Slotted rotors up to 14 inches in diameter with six-piston calipers, as well. All of these will be attached to 17-inch alloy wheels with chrome and carbonite finish options.

No pricing was announced, but they expect the truck to be available this fall.
