Few things go together better than a good truck and grilling burgers. Rivian recognizes that. That's why their concept electric pickup is equipped with a pullout kitchen system. And best of all, it's making it to production.

Rivian first revealed the idea in may during the Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona. It was part of the R1T electric pickup concept. While nifty enough, most folks chalked it up to concept car strangeness. But the automaker is series, confirming the feature's inclusion in the production model.

The slide out kitchen will be available when the R1T launches in 2020.

The kitchen unit itself slides out of the side, placed behind the cab. This sacrifices an area usually used for storing extra gear. Running on the vehicle's battery system (it's an electric, so everything is), so it will use an electric stovetop system to heat whatever you're cooking, instead of a standard gas or charcoal grill.

While the promotional imagery shows the kitchen set as a camping option, we can't help but think of how much swagger this would pull as a football tailgate.
