The Jaguar F-Type was a hit when it released in 2014. And while it's still going strong today, Jaguar is looking to bring it to the future with what appears to be electrification and a digital dashboard.

According to a spy shot report by Autocar on Thursday, a prototype F-Type has been spotted with a sleeker body design, wraparound headlights, and a massaged fascia.

The same source claims that the brand will be replacing the current supercharged V-6 engine in favor of an electric inline 6 powertrain, the same as the ones announced for the 2020 Landrover models. Should the specs look to be the same, we can expect around 355 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque

This isn't a fully electric car, to be clear. It is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 with a powerful electric starter motor. While there is still some combustion, this setup likely means that the manual options will be a thing of the past.

Inside the vehicle is a reported digital instrument cluster. Instead of standard needles and dials, digital screens will display all of the relevant vehicle information on the dash. Drivers will also have access to a large touchscreen acting as an infotainment system.

No official word as to when we can expect these changes, nor if they'll even be kept in the final models.
