The SUV is a wonderful vehicle. While growing increasingly common in modern casual use, it's been often left on the sidelines when it comes to super performance. If you want speed, you get a coupe, or even a specially designed vehicle. Hennessey recognizes this open trunk hero, and gives it the greatest power it can. Introducing the HPE1200 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk: the world's fastest SUV.

Don't be surprised if the title sounds familiar, Lister announced their own "World's Fastest SUV" back in September. But when you compare specs, Hennessey's Trackhawk comes out just a bit better.

The vehicle is capable of a quart mile time of exactly 9.66 seconds, as seen in the video below. This is largely due to the massive 1,003 horsepower and 892 pound-feet of torque coming from the Trackhawk's powertrain. At levels like this, the SUV needed 22 psi of boost and 109-octane fuel for its Hellcat 6.2-liter V-8 engine with a 4.5-liter supercharger, upgraded pistons, rods, ported cylinder heads, and camshaft upgrade. On the ground are a set of Nitto 555R 275/40-20 drag radial tires.

With a trap speed of 145 mph and a zero to 60 time of 2.3 seconds, this is certainly the quickest SUV we've ever seen. They aren't cheap either, costing a base price of $179,000. At least that includes the cost of a donor Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
