For Hardcore Track Fans

That's right, Ford is taking even more weight out of the Ford GT! For a car that was already race-proven, it might seem like overkill, but hardcore track fans will certainly enjoy this model.

The Ford GT trim, a cut "above" the regular Ford GT, is set to appear in a Competition Series.

Let's Talk Specifics

The GT will include a Perspex acrylic engine hatch cover with a manual latch and carbon fiber prop rod. There will also be titanium lugnuts and titanium exhaust, and a thinner Gorilla Glass bulkhead.

To help differentiate between the regular GT and the Competition Series, Ford has opted to expose carbon-fiber for the racing stripes. But that's not the end of carbon-fiber: it will also be incorporated in the console accents and door sills.

Before you get too excited, however, the touchscreen, A/C and cupholders have been removed. In their place, a special center console plate.

The weight differences are yet to be given out in detail, but with all the things they've taken out, it might actually be a substantial difference.
