A new Ferrari may be coming sooner than we thought. The automaker plans to reveal a new model at their Maranello, Italy, headquarter this September 17.

Codenamed the F176, current speculation points toward it being based on the 812 Superfast. This could mean that it's a one time model developed by Ferrari's Special Projects coachbuilding service. It may also be something to mark the 50th anniversary of Ferrari in Japan. The Superfast has a similar situation in 2016, when the company celebrated 60 years in the United States.

While there is a section of their website dedicated to the F176, the only parsable information made presently available has been a teaser image. While the image shows little, it does suggest an open-top design.

The only other recent vehicle we know to sport such a design is the 488 Pista. But that vehicle is expected to debut this month at the Monterey Car Week. So we're left to wonder for now. Stay tuned as the story develops.
