There seems to be a trend lately of people turning Bentleys into something much more rugged than the brand is used to. First, it was the Bentley Continental transformed into a treaded terror. Now it's the Bentley Bengala SUV.

Spanish design firm Bengala has taken a Bentley SUV, given it to a former Spanish off-road champion, gave him a team of engineers, and created the Bentayga Bengala. The immediate changes can be seen outside, with a massive bumper bar and LED light bars attached to the front and top of the vehicle. Two more bars are added to the front and back for additional protections. Lastly, the wheel arches and side skirts were extended to handle the big and tough off-road tires.

You can see that a lift kit was installed, but the details of that remain unknown. The same can be said for the carbon fiber, which exists in unspecified amounts.

Continuing that mystery, the performance specs have not been confirmed. The original Bentayga model offers a 6.0-liter W-12, 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 hybrid or 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine. It stands to reason that one of these are in the modified version we're reporting on. But this cannot be confirmed. Whatever is under the hood, we're sure that they gave the vehicle proper power.

Don't expect to see very many of these, though. Bengala only intends to produce 15 examples for an unlisted price.
