Aston Martin has a reputation. They've established themselves as a luxury brand that anyone would want. And despite the success of their first SUV, the DBX, they want to keep people wanting. That's why they're limiting sales.

According to an interview with Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer, the company has limited production of the DBX to 5,000 units. This isn't due to dedication or resources, but to maintain exclusivity. He explains that 72 percent of Aston Martin owners already have an SUV, so they are limiting sales to preserve their status.

Pre-production of the DBX has begun at the firm's new Wales facility and the SUV will release later this year. Good luck finding one, though.
