Headlights are awful. It always seems like yours are never bright enough. Even when they are, it’s never easy to see everything on a dark night. In an effort to resolve this problem, Lanmodo has produced a night vision camera for automobiles.

Lanmodo Night Vision Systems is a company dedicated to, you guessed it, night vision. Their latest creation is a camera system for cars that can enhance visibility at night, in rain, and during fog.

The view is displayed through a 1080p, full color screen mounted above the dashboard. It’s connected to an infrared light magnifier capable of ranges up to 984 ft down the road.

The trade off? It’s somewhat narrow, only capable of 36 degree field-of-view, it’ll have some noticeable blind spots on the sides. It’s best for viewing down the road and not along the sides.

The light moderation means that it will also be helpful in times of fog, rain, and even incoming headlights. There’s something awful about when the person driving past you is blasting overpowered LEDs, The screen will automatically mitigate that glare into something easier on the eyes.

It’s easy to install, as well. The system is all contained within the product. All it requires is power (12v). For their rearview option, you will need to install the camera to the rear and run a camera cable through to the front. But for the front view option, it just needs to be plugged in.

Here’s the rough part. The Night Vision system costs around $600. The company often has promotional discounts, but that is the standard retail price. It’s a bit pricey for a camera mount. But if you're someone who often drives at night or in areas with little to no ambient lighting, this might be worth your while.
