We all love a nice, vintage car. But what about a 1979 International Harvester Scout II restomod? For the right (very large) price, this elegant SUV could be yours.

The off-roader project was taken up by Velocity Restorations of Pensacola, Florida. Spending over 1,500 hours on the rebuilding process, they're now selling the vehicle for around $229,000. Brandon Segers, Velocity Restorations owner, expressed his pride in the project in a statement.

"We are really proud of our International Scout. We found this model in a Texas oil field. We stripped it to the bare metal, and started the frame off restomod process. Every nut and bolt is brand new, the powertrain is improved, and it looks stunning."

The Harvester Scout restomod has a powerful 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 engine under the hood, pushing out 430 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque. All of this being directed through a four-speed automatic transmission.

On the outside, we see a custom grille brandished in the front, between two LED headlights and above a custom bumper. A 9.0-inch rear axle and 6.0-inch suspension lift support the Nitto Trail Grappler Mud Terrain tire-wrapped wheels, which have Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes.

The cabin has digital gauges and a modern stereo system, which contrasts the custom dash and vintage AC and heat system. The seats are wrapped in black vinyl. It's all kept safe by a powder-coated roll bar.
