In the first quarter of 2017, Ford has seen a huge sales increase in their performance vehicles. In the first quarter alone, the overall sales have risen 45% and it's expected to keep going upward throughout the year. The cars were looking at are the Fiesta, Focus ST, and Focus RS. It has been reported that people buying these three cars have around 70% higher incomes than those who buy normal cars.

According to sales reports, the average income of a Fiesta buyer is $59,000 while the Fiesta St buyer has a salary of $102,000. That's nearly double the income of a standard Fiesta owner. On top of that, the Focus ST has an average income of $63,000 to $108,000 and the Focus RS has an average of $169,000.

Obviously, these figures don't apply to everybody, but this is the average across the board. When it comes to ages, it looks like the sportier versions have the younger drivers. The average ages of Fiesta ST, Focus RS, and Focus ST drivers are 35, 41, and 36, respectfully. The average ages of normal Focus and Fiesta drivers are 46, and 45, respectfully.

Ford wants to put a large focus on the younger demographic. They stated that: â€świth repeat customers making up around half of industry sales, capturing younger buyers while they still have many vehicle purchases remaining in their lives is good for business."
