A good resto-mod will warm any modder's heart. But they're usually Porsche 964s or Ford Broncos, bot a Hummer H1.

Detroit-based MSA has finished their first example of a modified H1, known as Launch Edition 001. This vehicle was rebodied, rebuilt, and revved up. Hardened aerospace grade aluminum coats the original H1 skeleton, while also being coated with a Line-X like material. Everything from the bumpers to the skid plates have been refurbished and coated for protection.

The headlights, taillights, and turn signals have all been upgraded to LED, and extra LED lightbars have been mounted on the roof and front end both.

The interior has been given the same level of treatment. The seats are coated in Marine-grade leather, JL Audio has provided a new and improves sound system, more of that super aluminum lines the panels, and a Momo Prototipo steering wheel tops it all off.

But how about the power? Under the hood lies a 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V-8 engine. This allows it to push about 500 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque. MSA has also upgraded to an Allison 1000 6-speed automatic transmission. The suspension has also been reworked to improve comfort and control both on the road and in the wilds.

The MSA Hummer H1 will cost $218,499 to start. It's a heavy price for an impressive vehicle.
