Nissan recently unveiled it's Ellure concept car at the LA Auto Show and it appears as if this concept will be the new Altima line coming out in either 2012 or 2013. It's said to be a Supercharged hybrid version of the current Altima 2.5 and powered by a lithium-ion battery. We're unsure of the drive train in this concept but my guess is that they'll stick with the CVT, most likely an improved version over the current mold that tends to fail more often than not on the 4 cylinder Altima's. Here's hoping a more powerful version is in the works as well.



Personally, I can't say I'm a huge fan of this styling, other than the lowered suspension and nicer looking side profile, it looks just a little too conceptish to me. It really looks like the aborted offspring of a Maxima/Altima get together. Although this is a concept car so one can't look TOO much into it. One does wonder what a coupe version might look like as well. Check out the video below for more;
